Thoughts on security, privacy, and building software.

About Rafe

I do all my own stunts.

Being in security is a little like being a farm cat. Everyone agrees they want a rodent-free facility, but nobody particularly enjoys being brought a dead rat. So you’ve got to enjoy elements of the process, given that often when you are doing your best work, other people won’t be enjoying it. For me, I’ve always loved technology. I’m more of a builder than a breaker, and writing about stuff clarifies my thoughts on a subject.

At work, I’m a people wrangler and devsecops advocate working with engineering teams. I’ve gone neck deep into AI because that’s what’s shaping everything at the moment. I’m fortunate enough to travel for work, and I present at conferences and meetups on security and privacy issues in the US, UK and Australia. At home I… still basically mess around with tech, AI and security tools, when I’m not buried under a pile of kids. I also cycle, meditate, play tabletop rpgs.
